WORLD BOOK DAY: SHAKESPEARE IN THE CLASSROOM

Estándar

Why do we celebrate World Book Day on 23rd April? Does this date have anything to do with William Shakespeare? Who said “To be or not to be“?

As some of you have mentioned in class: “Shakespeare should have written something really important to appear in The Simpsons“.

You are so right! Shakespeare was and still is a really influent writer!

Apart from the Simpsons chapter, we highly recommend Anna Cohen’s animated short film Shakespearean Tragedy (A Comedy); her final project at Emuna College in Jerusalem, released in 2010 where she tells how Shakespeare’s “friends” (Romeo and Juliet) help him to overcome writer’s block.

Test how much you’ve learnt about Shakespeare both in class and in the play that will be performed today.

PLEASE, DON’T FORGET TO HAND IN THESE ACTIVITIES AS THEY WILL BE AN IMPORTANT MARK FOR 3RD TERM!!!
